Goa is mainly part of Konkan coast, a depression of Western Ghats mountain range, wich separates it from the plateau of the Deccan. Sonsogor is the highest spot with its 1167 meters (about 3.828 feet). The lenght of Goa coast is 101.4 km (63 miles).
The main river is the Mandovi, followed by Zuari him, the Terekhol, the Chapora and Sal. The port of Mormuago, on the estuary of river Zuari is a natuarl harbour. The Mandovi and the Zuari are the main sources of livehood of Goa.
In Goa there are over forty estuarine, eight islans on the sea, ninety islands on rivers. The totality of navigable rivers reach the lenght of 252 km (157 miles). There are over three hundred irrigation dams, built during the Kadamba dynasty and about a hundred places with thermal waters.
